WHAT IS TORQUE CONVERTER STALL?
Stall speed is the point where a torque
converter
has reached its maximum fluid flow or it has hydraulically locked up
because
torque has reached its highest point. Stall speed is the amount of
engine
RPM that can be attained at full throttle with the brakes applied and
the
transmission in gear before the drive wheels turn. All stall speed
ratios
are approximate and will vary, based on the torque of the engine. The
stall
ratings listed here are for a fresh big block engine. Small blocks will
be 300 to 500 RPM’s lower. To find the torque converter you need, use
the

Street Rod 2,000-2,200
This torque converter was designed and
manufactured
for the street rod enthusiast needing a slight edge over the OEM stock
torque converter. This unit has silicon brazing for strength, needle
bearings
for reliability and stator modifications for torque
multiplication.
Street Master 2,200-2,500
This “Street” converter was designed for the
driver who is looking for a competitive advantage. By raising the stall
RPM you can eliminate slow sluggish starts. Street Master converters
are
recommended for stock to slightly modified engines to achieve maximum
performance
along with a smooth idle when in gear.
Pro Street 30 Series
All Pro Street converters are brazed to
increase
strength and have a full needle bearing design, front and rear to
insure
reliability. These converters are ideal for mild to highly modified
vehicles
requiring a 2,800 to 3,000 RPM stall. Works well with engines equipped
with headers, intake manifold and larger than stock camshaft.
Street/Strip 35 Series
Excellent for weekend racing and high
performance
street use. All street/strip converters are brazed and feature a
strengthened
sprag, special cut stator and full needle bearings front and
rear.
ProIII - Full Race Competition
ProIII converters are the ultimate in racing
torque converters. All ProIII converters have full needle bearing
replacement
of fiber washers. Special silicone spot brazing on top and bottom to
add
strength and reliability. Specially machined stator and a “Top
Sportsman”
sprag assembly with a 1 year warranty on the stator assembly. This unit
pioneered the “Soft Hit” design at the starting line without
sacrificing
top end efficiency or miles per hour with incredibly consistent 60 foot
times. Built with extra large ballooning plates
and available in more internal combinations than ever before. ProIII
converters are available in 8” and 9” configurations. If
your
tired of trying the rest - use this one you'll be impressed.
